Brian Cuban, the younger brother of entrepreneur Mark Cuban, is a Dallas based attorney, author and addiction recovery advocate. He is a graduate of Penn State University and The University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Brian has been in long term recovery from alcohol, cocaine, and bulimia since April of 2007. Brian’s best-selling book, The Addicted Lawyer, Tales of The Bar, Booze, Blow, & Redemption, is an un-flinching look back at how his addiction and other mental health issues destroyed his career as a once successful lawyer and how he and other in the profession redefined their lives in recovery and found redemption.

His first book, Shattered Image: My Triumph Over Body Dysmorphic Disorder, chronicles his first-hand experiences living with and recovering from twenty-seven years of eating disorders, and Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD).

Brian is a frequent speaker at law schools, colleges, universities, conferences, and bar association events across the United States and in Canada. Brian has appeared on numerous talk shows, as well as various media outlets across the country.

His columns have appeared and he has been quoted on these topics on CNN, Fox News, The Huffington Post, Above The Law, and The New York Times.

Eric Kittendorff

After losing his 17 year old daughter Alyssa to fentanyl poisoning on October 30, 2021, Eric Kittendorff turned heartbreak into action. Through powerful storytelling and social media advocacy, he raises awareness about the dangers of counterfeit pills and the growing fentanyl crisis.

Eric’s mission is to educate, protect, and inspire others, ensuring no parent has to experience the same unimaginable loss.

Dr. Matthew Paley

Board Certified Psychiatrist

Dr. Paley is a board-certified psychiatrist with a clinical focus on the full spectrum of substance use treatment, from medical stabilization and pharmacologic management to complex psychiatric comorbidity and long-term recovery. His work spans both addiction medicine-oriented care and addiction psychiatry, with an emphasis on treating patients holistically rather than fragmenting care across silos. He has worked across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and
residential treatment environments which has given him deep insight into the challenges facing today’s medical delivery system.

In addition to clinical work, Dr. Paley has held leadership and medical director roles, where he has focused on improving access to evidence-based care, integrating medical and behavioral health services, and addressing the structural failures that leave vulnerable patients without support. He brings a pragmatic, systems-level perspective to addiction treatment which is grounded in both frontline clinical experience and an understanding of policy, financing, and real-world constraints.

As an advisor, Dr. Paley is committed to advancing compassionate, effective, and humane responses to substance use – particularly for populations who are underserved, stigmatized, or overlooked by traditional systems of care.

Micah Sawyer

Co-Founder, Micah’s Hugs 501(c)(3) Nonprofit

Micah Sawyer is a dedicated harm reduction advocate, speaker, and co-founder of Micah’s Hugs, a nonprofit organization created in memory of his son, Micah Jr., whose life was tragically cut short by a fentanyl poisoning. Driven by the belief that awareness saves lives, Micah works tirelessly to educate the public, expand access to Narcan, and support families impacted by substance use and loss.

Micah leads community overdose response trainings, organizes large-scale awareness events – including the Walk for Lives in San Francisco – and collaborates with public agencies, schools, healthcare providers, and recovery networks to ensure overdose prevention tools reach those who need them most.

As a grieving father who transformed heartbreak into action, Micah brings a deeply personal perspective to his advocacy. His voice represents thousands of families impacted by the opioid epidemic, and he remains committed to ensuring no parents walks this journey alone.

Michelle Sawyer

Co-Founder, Micah’s Hugs Nonprofit

Michelle Sawyer is a nonprofit leader, community organizer, and co-founder of Micah’s Hugs, established to honor her stepson, Micah Jr. after his death from fentanyl poisoning. Michelle has turned her family’s tragedy into a mission of saving lives, supporting families, and advocating for systemic change in substance use awareness and recovery pathways.

Under Michelle’s leadership, Micah’s Hugs has distributed thousands of doses of Narcan, delivered school-based substance use prevention education, and built strong partnerships with local government, public health systems, and recovery providers. She also leads public awareness events including world record setting overdose prevention initiatives to empower communities with lifesaving knowledge.

Michelle speaks openly about grief and healing, giving strength to others navigating similar pain. She is unwavering in her belief that every life is worth fighting for and that recovery should be accessible, compassionate, and stigma-free.

Julio Dolorico

Financial Advisor

Julio Dolorico brings 32 years of personal sobriety and a deep commitment to service to his role on the board of Recover or Die. His own journey through addiction and into lasting recovery has given him an intimate understanding of both the struggles and the transformative power of healing.

Having experienced firsthand what it means to rebuild a life in recovery, Julio is passionate about ensuring others have access to the compassion and resources that made his own sobriety possible.

Julio has extensive nonprofit leadership experience, having served as Vice President of the Lafayette Library and Learning Center Foundation Board of Trustees from 2019 to 2021, where he oversaw operations and managed a $26 million endowment as head of the Investment Committee.

During his time as a board member from 2014 to 2018, he led strategic initiatives including multicultural programming, community engagement campaigns, and major fundraising events. Julio also served on the Hamilton College Alumni Council from 2019 to 2023, where he vetted and nominated alumni for leadership
positions.

Julio believes that recovery is not only possible but can be the foundation for a life of purpose and contribution. He is committed to breaking down barriers to treatment, reducing stigma, and building a supportive community where healing can flourish.

Julio is a proud father to two children, Caitlin, 22, and Declan, 18, both students at the University of Utah. He lives in Walnut Creek, California.
